Yes, Jim, that is helpful. It brings to mind that book "Do Hard Things." We can passively shy away from the uncomfortable or we can embrace a growth mindset. Failure is ultimately success. That sounds like a lot of "positive thinking," but there is no short cut to living through something, no real ownership with the actions. Thanks

Just watched this, Jim, and my heart resonates with yours. After going through cancer and back, now I face another major surgery (not cancer) and to add to it all, 2 days ago I smashed my finger in the car door! Even the physical battles can make me wonder "why the enemy is tossing me around.."; not only the financial pressures and needs.
BUT! I have that steady confidence you mention, that peace that underlies it all. Not fatalism, but trust in the Father's love and goodness. I've discovered that my teaching these days is deeper, stronger, and (I'm told) carries more authority. This is because I KNOW who Jesus is within me and am discovering His resources more and more.
May you know His secure comfort and fortitude every day. Thank you for inspiring us.

thanks for being so real Jim about struggles and the waiting game. I am trying myself to move foreward after divorce and limited access to my daughter. I needed this message like I needed water today in the triple digit Arizona heat.
