Hey Jim,
Love the man cave! The adirondack chair in the back is fabulous. My whole house is a woman cave. It's guarded by a rare and mysterious giant porcelain bunny dressed in hiking gear and weilding a walking stick that I got at Home Goods! :0) Seriously...beautiful scenery! Wow!
So anyway...great post. Those "concerns" that come along..that turn out not to be callings are almost like road signs as I see them. They sort of steer me in the right direction. Being a passionate person in general, I find I am passionate about so many things..but there's this little internal "click" that happens with regard to callings, I think.
I'm so glad you did not stick to "just" men's ministry. There are so many women too who need to hear your perspectives, too!
Thanks,
Meredith
Hey Meredith -- I think you're right - that those things we assumed were our long-term calling but weren't, often awaken us to more clarity: A helpful question then is, "What part of that experience did I enjoy? What desires did that experience awaken in me."
